While we don’t mind the vehicle and gun (if there are some) camos, we do understand where the community is coming from, as this brings a concern that the game will eventually be filled with other meme-like character skins, even that crossing over from other franchises. Specifically the Battlefield 2042 Santa Clause skin, which has long been joked and worried about in the Battlefield community that DICE would eventually do at some point in the Battlefield franchise. While they’re solely cosmetics, and play no role in giving players any gameplay advantages, many are seeing this as DICE and EA’s attempt to capitalize (despite skins being free) on the success of Warzone and Fortnite. While this shouldn’t come as a shock to anyone, it doesn’t seem like the Battlefield community is taking too kindly to these additions.
